Central Virtual Year 6 Induction

‘Making a difference, changing lives’

We are extremely proud to welcome you to Central Academy.

Our school is a mainstream, non-selective comprehensive school centred on our core values of collaboration, opportunity, respect, and excellence and built on our ‘student first’ ethos.

At Central Academy, our primary, uncompromising objective is to provide our students with an opportunity to attain the highest level of educational excellence.  Our mantra for continuous improvement is ‘High expectations, high challenge, and high support’.  We expect students and staff to invest time, effort and hard work in our collective pursuit of educational excellence.

We have amazing students at Central Academy. Our students are respectful, inquisitive, engaging and are very proud to be Central Academy students. Equally impressive are our staff who work tirelessly to help each student achieve their best every day. We are honoured to have such wonderful colleagues and grateful for the life chances they are giving our young people.

Our core values of collaboration, opportunity, respect, and excellence permeate all that we do.  From the moment our students arrive at Central Academy, we instil in them our core values. We capitalise on these values to support an emphasis on the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of children and allow for both a celebration of diversity and a promotion of modern British values.

We are very proud to be part of the CORE Education Trust.  As a CORE Education Trust School, we are constantly challenged to do the best for our students and we are supported in our ambitions by highly successful professionals who really understand what it takes to succeed in the modern world of education and enterprise. Our partnerships with the likes of Royal Shakespeare Company, Lawn Tennis Association, and Echo Eternal provide our students with culturally diverse opportunities to bring life to our core values.

Welcoming a new year group is always an exciting time for us and whilst this year is slightly unusual, we cannot wait for our 2025 cohort to begin in September!  Please do not hesitate to contact us in the meantime if you have any queries by calling reception on 01217 297160 or emailing primarytransition@corecentral.academy.

Welcome message – Mrs Miles Transition Coordinator

Welcome to the Primary Transition page!

It is always an exciting time of year when we get to welcome year 6 students to City/Central Academy, and it is my role as the Transition Coordinator to make this process as smooth as possible. This year’s transition program will be different to the previous year’s due to the current pandemic. Normally, I would have visited your child at their primary school and supported them by answering questions and reassuring them about what to expect when starting at City/Central Academy.

Transitioning from primary to secondary school is a time of excitement and anxiety for both children and parents. This webpage has been set up to inform you of ways to support your child and a platform for us to share information with you that will prepare your child in joining us at City/Central Academy in September.

Please email me if you have any questions: primarytransition@corecentral.academy
